Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 8
Did you know that God has given you power and authority over all of the works of the enemy? That includes sickness and disease of all kinds. Stay tuned for more.

Narrator: Healed and Whole Part 8
Why live a normal life when you could be living the abundant life? Welcome to The Abundant Life program with Ashley and Carlie Terradez.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 8
Hello and welcome to Abundant Life. My name is Ashley Terradez and this is my wife Carlie and we’re so glad you’ve joined us today in the lounge. We’ve got a great program for you today. Were talking about authority and about how God has given you authority. Praise God. Isn’t that neat?

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 8
Amen. And we have power and authority delegated from heaven itself. Let’s dive right into the Word here and find out what that means. I’m going to start in Luke chapter nine because our whole series, we’re right in the middle here of a series talking about healing and how to receive healing in ourselves, but also how to release healing to other people, right? But authority is one of those things that maybe isn’t talked about as much in the body of Christ, but we have authority when it comes to healing. And this power has been given to us by Jesus. So I’m going to start right here in Luke chapter nine verse one. It says, “Then he called his 12 disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.”

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 8
You know, we’re not sent to to pray for the sick. We’re sent to heal the sick. That’s a measure of authority there. There’s another account of this over in Matthew’s gospel in chapter 10 verse one. “He called his 12 disciples to him and gave them authority over unclean spirits and to cast them out and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.” Now being the Greek scholar that I am, I looked up that word all and it means all, right?

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 8
Means all, A double L.

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 8
I know, it’s deep. But that’s every kind of sickness and every kind of disease. People say to us, “Well what about genetic conditions?” All kinds of sickness, all kinds of diseases. “What about hereditary conditions? What about things that are in our chromosomes? In our DNA?” No, in there. “What about mental illness?” No, that’d be in there. “What about addictions?” No, that’d be in there.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 8
So basically, you know, we talked about this in previous programs, but it’s God’s will to heal. So we know. We don’t have to ask God if it’s his will to heal or not. We know it’s God’s will to heal. We know that everyone that came to Jesus for healing, he healed. And if you’ve seen Jesus, you’ve seen the Father. That’s what Jesus told Philip. And he’s the perfect representation of God. He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever. Therefore, we know it’s God’s will for healing. We know it’s God’s will is always to heal.

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 8
Absolutely.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 8
It’s always to restore people and to heal them. So therefore we have authority over sickness. Anything that comes in the way of a promise of God, we have authority over. God’s given us that authority. And I’m thinking back, many of you may have heard the story about daughter Hannah when she was healed.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 8
She was three years old. Basically the doctors told us to take her home and bring her back in two weeks because they believe she’d only have about a week to live and they thought that was a fairer way, for her to die at home. But she didn’t die. We took her to a conference, she was prayed for and she had hands laid on her and she was prayed for and she received a miracle and she was a hundred percent healed. But then on the way home, she started to choke, she started to have symptoms come back on her again. Right then and we had a choice to make. Was we going to believe that she was healed or was we going to believe, well, the healing, it was too good to be true. The sickness had come back to her.

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 8
Sometimes it looks like, Oh well it was nice for the moment, but I guess he didn’t lie.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 8
It didn’t last. And that’s what happens to a lot of people. In fact, one of them, one of the leading healing ministries in the world actually said that about 90% of the people they pray for that received their healing don’t actually maintain it longterm because they don’t understand their authority. And that’s one thing we want to help believers with. We want to help believers understand their authority. So at that moment I had a choice. Hannah was in the back of the car. We had two older sons. We have three kids altogether. Our two older sons were either side of her and she started to choke like she was going to throw up and she was going to react to the food she’d eaten. And I had a choice to make right then. I remembered I’d been learning about authority, having authority, as a believer, having authority. And I turned around and I spoke directly to that symptom. I spoke directly to choke and I said, “Choke. Can you stop now in Jesus name?” And it stopped and then it happened again. I spoke again to it. I said, “Stop right now.”

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 8
So your authority, like your faith, was spoken.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 8
Yeah, I spoke out my authority and it stopped. You know, we have delegated authority from the Kingdom of God and God stands behind us when we speak His words,

Carlie:
Right. Actually …

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 8
When we speak His words, He stands behind us.

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 8
These words that we just read in Luke 9:1, where it says, we’ve been given power and authority. Those words power and authority are exousia and dunamus. They mean that we’ve been given, dunamus is the miraculous miracle working power of God. The supernatural power of God.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 8
That’s a dynamite concept, right?

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 8
That’s a dynamite concept, yeah. But exousia, that’s talking about delegated authority. That is like a magistrate, the ability to rule and reign. So we have the ability to rule and reign over all sickness and all disease because it’s of the enemy. You know, way back in the beginning in Genesis, the Lord said to mankind, go and and subdue the earth. In other words, take dominion over it. Use your authority over it. I’m giving you the things of the earth under your control. So when it comes to sickness and disease, that’s of the world, right? We have dominion over everything. It says to cast out all kinds of demons as well, power over all kinds of demons and to cure diseases.

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 8
Sickness and disease isn’t from God. God doesn’t put sickness on people to teach us something. We’ve been through this a number of times in previous episodes, but God is only good. It’s the devil that comes to kill, steal and destroy. Jesus came to give us light and life more abundantly. That’s why when something like sickness or disease or some sort of demonic influence rises up against the Word of God in judgment, man, we need to, we have delegated authority to rule and reign and to put that power in its place. And not only do we have the right to do that, we have the power to do that. God is backing us up with miraculous power.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 8
The authority we have is a little bit like a police officer, right? When I first moved to America, a fine police officer did actually use his authority to pull me over while I was driving my truck because I was exceeding the speed limit.

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 8
Was your food slightly heavy?

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 8
I didn’t realize the speed limit had been reduced and I was still going at my current velocity.

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 8
You were driving illegally.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 8
And I was driving a little too fast. So he pulled me over and I soon realized he had authority. I mean, he’s the police, he has authority. Now him in himself as a man, it’s not like he has authority as a man. I didn’t have to listen to him.

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 8
You could have took him if you had to, right? Is that what you’re saying?

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 8
I’m not sure about that. But if he was just a regular man walking down the street, he couldn’t tell me to stop my truck. But because he had authority, he had a badge, he was a state trooper. He had authority delegated to him. I don’t know the correct terminology, but I guess the sheriff or someone gives him that authority to be able to do that. And he basically stopped me with his authority, his position of authority as a policeman. As believers, you have authority over anything that comes against the Word of God in your life. Anything that is coming against God’s goodness, you have authority. That includes sickness, poverty, anxiety, fear, anything that comes against the promise of God. See, Jesus has paid the price for those things. They’ve already been dealt with, they’ve been defeated, and now you can enforce Jesus’ victory. You can enforce the victory. So the law was set that, the speed limit was whatever it was, 65 in that area. Now he could enforce that law upon me.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 8
And what actually happened was, in England when we get pulled over by the law, by the police, when we get pulled over, we get out of our vehicle …

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 8
You don’t do that here.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 8
… and go back and join the police officer. I pull my truck over and I opened the door and I went to get out. At which point this police officer jumped behind my truck, pulled his gun out, pointed it at me, and said, “Get back in your truck.”

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 8
He was about to show you some power.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 8
I’d only been here … he was about to show me dunamus power. I’d only been here a few weeks, but all of a sudden I realized the land of the free isn’t so free. I had to get back in the truck, put my hands on the wheel. I’m shaking like a leaf. And I said, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” He heard my English accent …

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 8
You begged for mercy.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 8
He heard my English accent. He put his gun away. He said, “Listen.” He said, “In America, this is what we do.

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 8
We drive on this side of the road.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 8
Yeah. We don’t make any sudden moves, we keep our hands on the wheel, we look straight ahead. I was like, “Okay, yes sir. No sir.” And actually he let me off with a warning because of my English. Obviously.

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 8
He just figured you were ignorant.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 8
I was ignorant, actually. But he had authority. I’m telling you, as a believer, you have that designated authority. You have that authority that’s been given to you. Now, what he didn’t do was he didn’t call the sheriff and say, I need your help. No, he had the thought to himself, and sometimes believers …

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 8
If he’d have done that, actually, if it had gone to stop Ashley and instead of using his authority and his power, he’d actually called the sheriff and said, “Sheriff, you need to,” or whoever it was is his boss, “Can you send somebody down here to arrest this man because he’s not obeying the laws of the land.” The sheriff would have been, “What are you calling me for? I’ve already given you authority. I’ve given you power. Don’t call me and ask me to do something for you that I’ve told you to do and equipped you to do for yourself.”

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 8
That’s good. That’s what we do as Christians thought, right? We say, “Oh God, please, please help me in this situation. Please bind the devil for me. Please do these things, please help me.” And God’s actually given us the authority to do it ourselves. And he sent the disciples out two by two, and they went out and they did these things. They healed the sick. They cast out devils. They did these things themselves because God had given them, Jesus has given them authority. Well God’s given you authority as a believer and you can come against all the works of the devil. He’s a defeated foe. He’s been defeated and now it’s your turn to enforce what’s already been done. What Jesus has already done, you can enforce. He’s already done it and you can enforce it and you have the authority to do that.

Speaker 1: Healed and Whole Part 8
Amen. And the truth is we are just as equipped, if not more equipped, than the disciples were when they were sent out. Because we have the Holy Spirit in us. Amen. They didn’t have the Holy, Pentecost hadn’t come yet. They didn’t have the Holy Spirit in them, right? They had Jesus as an example, but they didn’t know that the Holy spirit was going to come upon them and never leave them. They couldn’t hear God on the inside of them as they went out. Once they left Jesus presence, they didn’t hear God in the same way that we can hear God today. So when we look at these scriptures sometimes we think like, oh, it’s okay for the disciples, they had Jesus with them. We have Jesus with us.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 8
Right.

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 8
Amen. In 1 John 5 he says, “Greater is he that’s in us than he that is in the world.”

Ashley:
Amen. 1 John 4:4. Jesus even said to the disciples, it’s better for me to go and be with the Father so the Holy Spirit didn’t come. So it’s actually better to live now. How we’re living now is actually better than when the disciples lived. In fact, he said to Thomas, he said, you know what? You’ve seen and you’ve believed, but blessed are those, or more blessed are those who believe who have not seen. So you as a born again believer now actually have an advantage over the original 12 disciples. You actually have more, you have more equipment. You have the Holy Spirit, you have your spiritual gifts, you have the Word of God completely. You have all this stuff and they didn’t have that. That’s why Jesus said it’s better for me to go away, for the Holy Spirit to come.

Ashley:
So we’re even more equipped than the disciples. So we should be doing at least what the disciples did and more. In fact, Jesus said these works you do also and greater works. And we can debate whether that means more quantity because there’s more people or actual greater works, whatever. Either way, I don’t know why we’re debating it, let’s just at least do what Jesus did. And then once you do what Jesus did, the bare minimum, then we can debate about what the greater works are. But basically we have everything. We are equipped with everything we need to do what we saw the disciples and what Jesus did against sickness, against poverty, against all these things, oppression, against the devil, against fear. We have those things ready, we can exercise that authority because that’s our God given right. Amen?

Carlie:
Amen. And this sounds just so far out there sometimes that it’s hard to absorb all in one go. But when we take the word of God and we start using it in a practical sense, we’ll start to see the power of God in operation, like his disciples did. I remember one time we were in, I think I was in Walmart with Hannah when we were really little and we were at the checkout. And the lady, the cashier lady, was really in a bad way. She had pain in her shoulder, she was waiting to have surgery and different things and you could see she was in pain by the way she was really gingerly moving things through the conveyor belt across the scanner. And Hannah obviously noticed this, she’s probably only four, five years old. And she said to this cashier lady, “My mom can pray for you and you’ll be healed.” T.

Ashley:
Oh great. Thanks, Hannah. My mom will pray for you and you’ll be healed. The boldness of a child.

Carlie:
The boldness of a child. And this woman, she’s like, “Oh yes, please, please do pray for me.” I think she may have been Catholic or something like that. And she didn’t anticipate us praying for her right then.

Ashley:
See if we can make them go away and maybe at mass or church you pray for her. Maybe in your own time, but not pray for you right then and there.

Carlie:
So when I laid my hand on her shoulder, she was somewhat surprised. Like, why are you touching me? I said, “Well, I’m just going to pray for you.” And I started speaking using my authority over the pain that she was feeling in her body and commanded it to go. Now in less than 30 seconds, right? It was a quick micro prayer. We don’t have to ask God to come on down and do something. He’s already done his part. What we’re doing when we’re laying hands on people is we’re healing the sick. Like Jesus was saying, don’t pray for the sick, go heal the sick. Go and appropriate what I’ve already told you to to do. And so we spoke to that lady, to that lady’s body, and all of the pain left. And this big smile crept across her face and she was excited.

Carlie:
And you know, it was funny because at first she was like, “Oh no, you can’t pray for me here in front of everybody. I mean I’ve got a line full of people.” So Hannah turns to the line, again the boldness of a child, and she says, “Well you all don’t mind waiting, do you?” And they’re like, “Oh no, go ahead. Go ahead.” Then they were rubber necking, looking, what’s going on?

Ashley:
Wanting to see what’s happened.

Carlie:
It’s amazing what happens. You get one person healed in the middle of Walmart and before you know it, you have a prayer line started. When you start to understand the power that lives on the inside of us as believers, God is going to give you opportunities to exercise it. And this is where the disciples found themselves. He says, I like what it says in Matthew 10:8. It says, “Freely we have received, freely give” We have been given so much. We’ve been given precious promises in Jesus. Sometimes the reason that we are not seeing those promises manifest is because we’re not using what we’ve been given.

Ashley:
Right. I mean, that’s good. That’s good. I like this. This is in Romans 10. In Romans 10 it said, it says in Romans 10:8 it says, “The Word is near you. It’s in your mouth and in your heart. That is the word of faith which we preach, that if you confess with your mouth to Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that he is raised from the dead, you will be saved. From the heart one believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture says, whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” And basically, and then he goes on down to verse 13. It says, “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Now we always look at these verses in context of salvation, which is right. You can look at these verses, but if you unpack salvation, the word salvation used here is sozario or sozo and it means.

Carlie:
Sotiria.

Ashley:
Sotiria’s right. It means salvation, it means healing, wholeness, health, prosperity. So when we speak in these things out, we’re actually using our God given authority to bring about the promises of God. So these words are in us already. God’s given us the Word of God. We put the Word of God in us and these words in our mouth, when we speak them out, they can bring about healing to people and they can bring about health as well as salvation when people believe it. And the verse Carlie mentioned there was in Matthew 10, I believe, verse eight. It says, “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you’ve received, freely give.” And that’s really our commission if you like. You know, we’re commissioned to do these things. We’re commissioned to be the hands and feet of Jesus. And when Jesus, if you read the four gospels, as Jesus walked around the earth, he was either going to heal someone or coming back from healing someone. But he definitely had a healing ministry and he used his authority given to him by God the Father to do these things. And sometimes I’ve heard a lot of Christians say this, “Well, that was Jesus. He was God. He cheated.”

Ashley:
He was God. Now Jesus was 100% God. He was a 100% deity. But when he was on earth, during his earthly ministry, for about three and a half years he had an earthly ministry from when he was baptized the Holy Spirit to when he was a raised again from the dead, when he was risen again from the dead. In those three and a half years, he was a hundred percent man. He was actually operating as a man. And even though he was still 100% God, understand that, he was operating as a man and everything Jesus did, we can do. He have the same Holy Spirit. He had to take things by faith. He had to believe he was the Son of God by faith. He had to take things by faith. And he was showing us the way. He was an example to us. That’s why we can do everything we see Jesus do. It’s powerful.

Carlie:
Amen. Amen. I’m looking at this scripture. This is in Romans four and the book of Romans has so much in it. But I’m just going to start here. This is Abraham, talk about faith. This is Abraham and Sarah. When Abraham and Sarah were very old, they had a promise made to them that they were going to be the father and the mother of men of many nations, right? Now they were barren. Sarah was barren and she’s well up into her nineties and Abraham was over a hundred years old. And it didn’t look good, right? It didn’t look like much was happening there.

Ashley:
We’re not going to get graphic, we’re just saying, two people 99 and a hundred years out, we’re just saying.

Carlie:
We’re just saying. there are some physical impossibilities at that age, right? And sometimes the reason we don’t use, one of the reasons why we don’t use our God given authority, is because we’re too focused on what we see in the natural. It doesn’t look likely. It doesn’t look like it’s going to work out, and so we just kind of remain passive in that. Well, Abraham and Sarah, let’s read about them here in verse 17. It says, “As it is written, I have made you a father of many nations before God whom he believed, who raises the dead and calls those things that do not exist as though they did.” When we speak the Word of God in agreement with the Word of God, we speak it out and use our power and use out or authority that God’s given us.

Carlie:
We’re calling those things that be not, that are not happening natural into existence. That is the vehicle. You were saying we are the hands and feet of Jesus. The way power of God is manifested in the world today is through believers. It’s through believers that will come into agreement with his Word and speak his Word. This is so powerful. Call those things that be not as though they are. Verse 18, “Against all hope, he,” this is Abraham. “he believed in hope that he might become the father of many nations according to what was spoken. So shall your descendants be.” In other words, he had to take this by faith, right?

Ashley:
He believed it.

Carlie:
He had to believe it and take it by faith. “And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body to be dead when he was about a hundred years old. Nor the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He did not waver the promise of God through unbelief, but was strong in faith, giving glory to God and being fully persuaded that what God has promised, he was well able to perform it.”

Carlie:
Man, when we’re talking about using our authority, this is coming from a place of faith. It says, I know what the word of God says the word God says, we have authority over sickness and disease. Healing is ours. I don’t care what it looks like. I don’t care what it feels like. I don’t care what the outward circumstances are telling me, I’m going to appropriate the will of God, which is healing in this instance. Abraham had to take it by faith. He couldn’t get in to unbelief. I like the way it says he did not waver in unbelief.

Ashley:
My version says. “Being fully convinced.” Your version says, “Being fully persuaded.” Same thing. You know one thing about this story as well is I love that God showed Abraham a picture. He took him outside and said, look up at the stars. Now he was in the desert. If you’ve ever been somewhere where there’s no light pollution, when you look up in the stars…

Carlie:
Billions of stars.

Ashley:
… a clean, clear night, there is millions of stars. I mean millions and millions. God said to Abraham, look up at the stars. You’re going to have as many sons, you’re going to have as many descendants as the stars in the sky. And he looked. So he gave him a visual picture because he didn’t have the Word of God like we had. And then he said, you know, look at the sand, the sand in the desert. You’re going to have as many descendants as the grains of sand.

Ashley:
And they were visual pictures. They were things for Abraham to focus on. So every day when he had sand on his feet, when he looked up to the stars every night …

Carlie:
It was a constant reminder.

Ashley:
… he had a constant reminder. He was keeping the word of God, if you like, the word that God had given him. God had given him a direct word. You’re going to have you going to be the father of many nations. God had given him a word and Abraham kept that word of God in front of him night and day. And you know, Joshua 1:8 says a similar thing. We’re meant to meditate on the Word of God. We’re meant to meditate on this word day and night, and it’s very important to do that. And that’s what Abraham did. He got so convinced. He kept seeing those stars. He kept seeing the sand under his feet and he said, I’m going to have as many descendants as these stars and as this sand. And he took that promise from God and kept meditating on it.

Ashley:
Now it’s so much easier for us. We have the promises to God written down. We have them in a Bible. We can have them on our cell phones. We can look at those promises of God every day and realize this is the promise of God. God says, I’m healed. God says I’m prosperous. God says I’m righteous. God says I’m these things. We’ve got those promises in front of us and we can go by them promises. And you can ask God, God, give me a word for this situation. Give me a promise. And he’ll give you a promise out of his word, and you can actually meditate on that promise. And it’s when you meditate on that promise and get that promise on the inside of you, you’re going to see it manifest. And that’s what I believe Abraham did. He kept looking at those stars, kept looking at the sand, and he got convinced, even though the natural circumstances looked bad. Even though his body was dead, Sarah’s womb was dead. There was no way in the natural this could happen. He believed it. God is a God who takes pleasure in doing the seemingly impossible and making it possible. He will make a way where there seems to be no way. The good news is there is a way we just can’t see it in the natural.

Carlie:
That’s right.

Ashley:
Reminds me of Moses. You know he came up against the Red Sea. He’s got the cliffs on one side, he’s got the Egyptian army on the other side, he’s got the Red Sea in front of him. In the natural, there seems to be no way. But God says, you know what, watch this, and he [inaudible 00:21:56] opens the sea you know, and they walked through dry land.

Carlie:
Actually, he told Moses in that moment to use the rod of God that he put in his hand.

Ashley:
Use the rod of God.

Carlie:
See, Moses is [inaudible 00:22:00] the people. He says, well listen, God’s going to set you free. He’s going to be your deliverer. And God’s response to Moses was, Moses, why are you asking me? You do what I’ve told you to do. You use what’s in your hands

Ashley:
Use what in your hands. Use your authority. Use your God given authority. Moses had got given authority. We have God given authority. And with our authority, even though in the natural it may not seem like there’s a way, God will make a way where there seems to be no way, praise God. So however hopeless your situation is, you may think, actually it’s been going on too long. This situation’s too dead. Maybe it’s, you know, there seems death in your marriage or death in your bank account or death in your business, or death in your ministry. Now when you put that in front of God, when you give that to God, when you actually use your God given authority and start speaking life to those situations, it’s amazing how God can bring life to those situations.

Carlie:
You know what we’re doing? We’re doing James 4:7. We’re submitting to God, resisting the devil, and the devil has to flee. That’s the thing. We can’t be passive. Part of using our authority is not being passive and just letting circumstances and symptoms just crop up and pop up in our body and living with them, right? We’re called to manage diseases. We’re called to heal diseases. Right?

Ashley:
We’re overcomers. People say, “Well, how are you?” “Well, I’m okay under the circumstances.” What are you doing under the circumstances. You’re above only.

Carlie:
The word of God says you’re above the circumstances and not beneath them.

Ashley:
Amen.

Carlie:
I’m just looking at this in 1 Peter, it says, 1Peter 5:7 it says, “Cast all your care,” all your care, “upon Him because He cares for you.” You know oftentimes, maybe we’re struggling to receive something from God or we’re not using what we have, our authority as a believer, because we are burdened by worry, by unbelief. Just like Abraham and Sarah, they had to win the battle in their mind first because everything around them in the natural was speaking to them. They had the deadness of Sarah’s womb, could be speaking to Abraham. His own age, everything against him in the natural. He knew he had a promise from God but it didn’t look likely to happen.

Carlie:
That worry, that concern, whatever it is, if you’ve got sickness in your body or financial struggles or whatever it is that you’re dealing with, we can start to get burdened with those things. And if we’re not careful, we’ll find ourselves being consumed with that worry. We’ll find ourselves with a lack of peace.

Ashley:
Our focus will be on the circumstances.

Carlie:
Our focus will be on those things. So he says “Cast all your care upon him because he cares for you. Be sober and watchful because your adversary, the devil, walks around as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Resist him. Stand firmly in your faith knowing that the same afflictions are experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.” But you know, God is bigger than those things. And I love that he says, “Be sober and watchful because your adversary, the devil, roams around looking whom, whom he may devour. ?

Carlie:
You know, the devil doesn’t have authority over us. Sickness and disease doesn’t have authority over us. We are children of the most high god. Authority is given to us, not because of what we’ve done but because of who we are. We are children of God and it’s our birthright and our inheritance to walk in the authority that God has given us. When sickness and disease come to attack our body, they’re like illegal intruders. They have absolutely no right to be in our body. In fact, it says, seeking whom he may devour. The devil doesn’t have any rise. In fact, he has to ask permission.

Ashley:
Before he devours you.

Carlie:
Right.

Ashley:
So what do you say to the devil?

Carlie:
No, you may not devour me. I take myself off the menu.

Ashley:
Take yourself off the menu.

Carlie:
He’s not having me for lunch. Thank you, Jesus.

Ashley:
And he’s not even a roaring lion. He’s as a roaring lion.

Carlie:
He’s a fake.

Ashley:
His teeth had been knocked out. Jesus already defeated him. So he goes around as a roaring lion. He’s not even a real roaring lion anymore. Jesus is the lion of Judah. So yeah, anything that the devil throws a house, we have authority over him. He’s been defeated. We can resist the devil. Submit to God, praise God. So whatever your circumstances now, I’m telling you, God’s given you the authority to overcome and we want to pray for you before we leave.

Carlie:
Amen. Lord, I just thank you that you’ve given us power and authority over everything that rises against us in judgment. No weapon formed against us will prosper and every tongue of sickness or disease or despair that rise against us in judgment, we condemn it right now in Jesus name. We say, we resist you. We say, sickness and disease, you have absolutely no place in our body. We refuse to let sickness and disease rule and reign in our body a minute longer. Amen.

Ashley:
Amen. [inaudible 00:26:30] today. Praise God. Thanks for being with us. We’ll be back real soon and until next time, remember, don’t just settle for living a normal life when you could be living the abundant life,
